Mapping Wizard

If your broker’s statement isn’t recognized automatically, the Mapping Wizard lets you teach FinPal its layout — once — so every future upload from that broker works without any extra steps.

  1. Upload the file as usual from the Import section.
  2. If the format isn’t recognized, you’re shown the file’s columns alongside a few real sample rows from your own file.
  3. Tell FinPal which column is the date, which is the symbol, which is the amount, and so on.
  4. Save the mapping.

Every future statement with the same column layout imports automatically from then on — you won’t need to repeat the mapping step unless your broker changes their export format.

If a future statement doesn’t match a saved mapping anymore, you’ll be prompted to create a new one, the same way as the first time.
