Manual Assets & Net Worth
Your investment portfolio is only part of what you own. Manual assets let you add anything else — property, savings accounts, vehicles, or anything with a value you want tracked — so your net-worth view reflects everything, not just what’s in a brokerage account.
Adding a manual asset
Section titled “Adding a manual asset”Give it a name, a category, and its current value. Unlike investment holdings, manual assets don’t update automatically from a market price — you update the value yourself whenever it changes (e.g. after a home appraisal, or a savings deposit).
How it fits into net worth
Section titled “How it fits into net worth”FinPal combines your manual assets with your investment portfolios into a single net-worth number on your dashboard — the figure most people actually want to know, rather than an investments-only total.
Updating values over time
Section titled “Updating values over time”Revisit a manual asset whenever its value changes and update it directly. There’s no automatic revaluation for manual assets, since there’s no market price to pull from.
